Dead Cells

Some games just tend to sell better on Nintendo Switch. A plethora of indies found massive success on the system, such as Oceanhorn and SteamWorld Dig 2. The latest example, though, is Motion Twin’s Dead Cells.

Developer Motion Twin hasn’t shared exactly how many copies it’s sold, but the Nintendo Switch version has outsold the Playstation 4 version by a ratio of four to one. Destructoid confirmed this in a recent interview.

The Switch’s portability is such a selling point for certain titles. I can’t pinpoint exactly why Dead Cells follows the trend, but it’s important to note that indies continually perform better on Switch than other consoles.

About Dead Cells:

Dead Cells is a rogue-lite, metroidvania action-platformer. You’ll explore a sprawling, ever-changing castle… assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers in 2D souls-lite combat. No checkpoints. Kill, die, learn, repeat.”
