Dead Cells

We already knew that Dead Cells sold huge numbers on Nintendo Switch. The 2018 indie title sold four times as many units on the Switch as the PS4. However, now we have more concrete numbers on how the game performed. According to developer Motion Twin (via an interview translated by Nintendo Soup), Dead Cells sold more than 100,000 units on the Switch in its first week on sale.

Dead Cells performed well according to critics, scoring an average of 89 out of 100 on Metacritic. However, the game gained weeks of airtime when a Youtuber discovered that an IGN reviewer plagiarized his review of the game. The video has since netted nearly 2 million views on Youtube. Unfortunately, this controversy took up a lot of talk regarding the game itself.

Nevertheless, the game is a good one according to reviewers and worth checking out. Fortunately, it seems like many Switch owners were not deterred by the negative attention and picked the game up anyway.
