Well, it was a fun few hours, right? Earlier today, we reported on a rumor that we highly emphasized could be unfounded. Originating from Reddit, the rumor outlined potential remakes of GameCube’s Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Wii’s Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, also known as the Tellius duology. All of the rumors revolved around stray, largely innocuous recent comments from Reddit user u/thanibomb, who in 2019 had previously accurately described several details of Fire Emblem: Three Houses ahead of a formal reveal. The new, recent comments seemed to intimate that maybe the user believed Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn remakes are on the way. Well, we reached out to thanibomb to get actual clarification on the user’s position — and the truth is much more mundane than the rumor.
Thanibomb said to us in no uncertain terms, “Oh I don’t know about anything. I’m just hoping there’s a Tellius remake because they’re my favorite games and it’s suspicious how much Tellius content we’ve been getting in the past year.” The user also added that they’re not involved with leaking game information anymore.
So does this mean that Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are definitely not working on reviving Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn in some capacity for Nintendo Switch? Certainly not. But it does mean that we’ve completely debunked the source of today’s rumor. Sorry, Tellius fans!
