Detective Pikachu UK Netflix Sonic the Hedgehog

There’s no denying that Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog were a breath of fresh air for video game movies, with both films managing to pleasantly surprise fans. My mother also enjoyed both of these adaptations, despite having very little knowledge about both of these franchises. If you’re in the UK and have yet to watch them, then you will be pleased to know that Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog will be arriving on UK Netflix this month. With that in mind, you can set a reminder to watch them as soon as they are available.

Detective Pikachu was released in cinemas back in 2019 to fairly positive reviews from critics, being praised for its use of Pokémon references tailored towards hardcore fans. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Detective Pikachu, while Justice Smith plays the main character, Tim Goodman. Detective Pikachu will be available to stream on November 16, so you don’t have much longer to wait.

Then there’s Sonic the Hedgehog, which was released in February 2020, and for many people was the last film they watched in cinemas before the pandemic started. It stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the Blue Blur himself, and the hilarious Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. You will have to wait a little bit longer for Sonic the Hedgehog, as it won’t be available until November 27. A sequel has been filmed starring Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and it will release next year on April 8, 2022.

Detective Pikachu arrives on UK Netflix on November 17, while Sonic the Hedgehog will be available on November 27. Will you be giving these films a watch?
