Doug Bowser teaches parents to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

It’s a dead news day, so let’s just pass the time with a wholesome moment. Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser has tweeted out some pictures of himself teaching his parents to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, and according to Bowser, they “nailed it,” as a second place finish image is supposed to show. Doug Bowser is apparently 55 years old, which would likely put his parents in their 70s or 80s, and that is still plenty young enough to go wreck some fools as Koopa Troopa in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Let’s also talk about the fact that Bowser is wearing an awesome Super Nintendo Entertainment System T-shirt. I bought that same shirt from the Nintendo NY store a few years ago, and it’s still my favorite thing I’ve bought there to wear because it’s comfortable and just looks great. I’m hoping to go back to pick up some new items next weekend, coincidentally.

Anyway, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to be the bestselling video game on Nintendo Switch, currently sitting at over 35 million units sold, which is nearly three million units more than Animal Crossing: New Horizons in second place. There are few popular Switch games as pick-up-and-play as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and clearly Doug Bowser and his parents know that.
