Though we know the overall stage lists in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will differ drastically, we\’re gradually learning how much the line-ups will be the same, as well. In today’s official Smash Bros. update, Sakurai has come clean with some more details regarding the available stages. Dr. Wily’s Castle and the Boxing Ring stage will not only be appearing on Wii U, but also Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
Pic of the day. In general, there are completely different stages in the 3DS and Wii U version, but we made Wily Castle and the special boxing ring available for both versions! We didn\’t forget the Yellow Devil either. There may be some small differences in the stages, such as the 3DS stage appearing to be during daylight hours.
Despite the background change, it doesn\’t seem like Dr. Wily’s Castle has changed much at all from its Wii U counterpart. In all likelihood, the Boxing Ring stage won\’t change much, either. Possibly different lighting or laser shows or fireworks.
I hope this isn\’t the only Mega Man stage we get for 3DS, either. Although it is still a new stage in its own right, it would be nice to see what could be done more with the Mega Man universe. In particular, one that isn\’t intruded upon by a huge stage boss.
Fellow third-party representative Pac-Man will also get a Smash 3DS stage in the form of the Pac Maze, but there has not been a Sonic stage confirmed for the 3DS edition just yet. As the trend suggests, Sonic will get a stage from one of his portable outings. Could we see a Sonic Rush or even a Sonic: The Dark Brotherhood stage?
