Dragon Quest of the Stars pre-registration mobile Square Enix launch February

Last September, we reported on the exciting fact that Dragon Quest of the Stars, a mobile Dragon Quest adventure from Square Enix, is heading west. It had a closed beta on Android last November, and now the game is gearing up for official (mostly) worldwide release on Android and iOS on Feb. 25. The game will be available in English, Chinese (Traditional), Spanish, German, and French, and you can pre-register for the game at Google Play and the Apple Store starting today! It’s a free-to-play title with in-app purchases.

Square Enix is promising that the “higher the number of pre-registrations, the bigger the pre-registration rewards will be!” So, call all your friends and make an aggressive pitch. Friends will be useful to you anyway, since Dragon Quest of the Stars offers multiplayer for upward of four players. It’s still a turn-based JRPG despite its multiplayer though, much like Dragon Quest IX on Nintendo DS before it, and you can customize the look of your character as well.

Dragon Quest of the Stars is predictably popular in Japan, where it hit one million downloads in its first day of release back in 2015. The game’s arrival in the west has been a long time coming, but better late than never, right?

Anyway, just for the heck of it, I’m sharing the trailer for Dragon Quest of the Stars again, because it is pretty darn epic for being 30 seconds long.

Will you be giving this game a try come Feb. 25?
