The Dying Light franchise is slowly making its way onto Switch over the next few months. First, Dying Light: Platinum Edition officially launches in time for Halloween on October 19th (January 13, 2022 for Japan). Then, a few months later, Dying Light 2 Stay Human – Cloud Version hits the Switch on February 4, 2022 for even more zombie survival gameplay.
Despite launching in May on other systems, Dying Light: Platinum Edition was announced for Switch just a few months ago. This version of the game includes not only the base game, but all four major DLC packs, 17 skin bundles, and more weapons. Physical copies of the game will retail for $49.99, but also include a two-sided map, a survival guide, stickers, and a unique box. Further, enhancements such as HD Rumble, gyroscopic controls, and use of the touchscreen have been worked into the game, making the Switch version a little more unique. Pre-orders for Dying Light: Platinum Edition are open as of today.
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 Stay Human – Cloud Version will be launching on Switch early next February, only a few months after the game launches on PC and the Xbox and PlayStation console families. As a cloud-based launch, a stable internet connection and a Nintendo Account (though not necessarily Nintendo Switch Online) is required to be able to play the game. A free demo will launch alongside Dying Light 2 Stay Human – Cloud Version, which will allow you to see how the game handles with your connection before you commit to buying it.
