Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Nintendo Switch release date early 2021 Koei Tecmo Omega Force Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online

Following its reveal towards the end of 2020, we finally have some gameplay footage of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, courtesy of Koei Tecmo’s Japanese YouTube account. The trailer below is in Japanese, but you can still watch it for yourself to get a first look at how Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires plays.

While we still have not seen much of the game, we do have an idea of what some of its features will entail. The game promises to expand on the series’ standard one-person army formula with mechanics such as strategic siege warfare, unit command, diplomacy, and means of building up your nation through internal strength. The end result should be a familiar but exciting experience for fans of the popular franchise.

While the game obviously did not hit its initial release target of early 2021, Koei Tecmo most recently maintained that the game is still on target for a 2021 release date. We’ll just have to wait a little while longer to see exactly when that will be.

Are you excited to try out Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires? What do you think of the gameplay we just saw? What new features are you most interested in trying out? Let us know in the comments below.
