There is not long to wait before E3 2021, with just over a month to go. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has confirmed today that more publishers have signed onto E3 2021, including Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, XSEED Games / Marvelous, Gearbox Entertainment, Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, Turtle Beach, Verizon, and Binge.com. Other major publishers committed to the event last month (though Konami subsequently dropped out), including Nintendo, so fans can probably expect some kind of Nintendo Direct presentation next month.
E3 2021 will be an online-only event, just like with most gaming showcases. It is scheduled to take place June 12 – 15 and will feature the usual press conference-like format. A few notable publishers have yet to sign on to E3 2021, such as PlayStation, which abandoned the event in 2019 before the pandemic. There’s still a chance that more will join leading up to what can be described as “Christmas for gamers,” but we’ll have to wait and see.
Yesterday, the German Games Industry Association (GAME) also confirmed details about its own event, Gamescom 2021. It will also be an online event, and so will Summer Game Fest, another gaming showcase from Geoff Keighley. All of this is truly the summer of gaming, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for the next few months. Are you excited about these publishers joining E3 2021, and if so, which one are you the most interested in?
