Earthbound Burglin Park Market comes to life next month in Japan

Mother series creator Shigesato Itoi’s company Hobonichi has announced that a real-life version of the Burglin Park market from EarthBound is coming to Japan next month. However, instead of ketchup packets and other sketchy items, the market will have various goods from the series. The “Mother‘s Plaza” will be available to check out from July 1 to July 11 at the Shibuya Parco.

While the original Burglin Park had questionable items from the condiments shop and the sign shop, the real-life Burglin Park market at Shibuya Parco will feature new official EarthBound / Mother goods.

Items include hats, shirts, pins, keychains, plushes, and more. There’s even an official Ness hat that comes with the Mother logo.

The Mother‘s Plaza will also have a real-life Stoic Club going on. The Stoic Club is a private club in Summers that has a supposed magical rock. The club members gather to talk philosophy around the rock in the game, but we’re unsure what they’ll offer in the real-life version of it. In any case, it’ll cost 550 yen (~$5) to get a member’s card needed to enter.

Fans in Japan can visit the EarthBound Burglin Park market event daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the eighth floor of Shibuya Parco. Hobonichi also announced a second Pollyanna book in March, so we can expect to hear more about it in the near future.
