Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Nintendo Switch EB Games Canada Twitter leak

So, uh, file this under “oops.” EB Games Canada is claiming on Twitter that Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will come to Nintendo Switch and that you should preorder it in store now. However, the game is not available on the EB Games Canada website. Additionally, Capcom has made no such announcement about Street Fighter V heading to Switch in any form. Up till now, the title has only been available on PlayStation 4 and PC.

So either EB Games Canada made a typo that will soon be rectified (which is possible, since a previous tweet made today has a strange error), or they published a tweet ahead of schedule and totally wrecked Capcom’s announcement plans.

Street Fighter V originally released in February 2016 in a relatively incomplete state, but many improvements and additions have been made since then. Arcade Edition subsequently released in 2018, and now Champion Edition is releasing this February. At this point, the game contains a pretty large selection of characters, including eternal favorites like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, and Blanka, but it also includes new or lesser-known characters like Abigail, Ed, Falke, G, Gill, Poison, and Seth.

Until Capcom says something official, the verdict is still out on whether Street Fighter V: Champion Edition really will come to the Nintendo hybrid platform. In the meantime, you can just flip on your Nintendo 3DS and play some more Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition.
