Emily Rogers 2 Wii U ports come to Nintendo Switch

2020 is shaping up to be another exciting year in gaming. But Nintendo hasn’t really announced many first-party titles for this year. Sure, there are some pretty exciting games coming out like Animal Crossing, the remake of Xenoblade Chronicles, and a port of the Wii U game Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but we don’t have much more beyond that. However, according to industry insider Emily Rogers, a source of reliable information in the past, there are at least two more unannounced Wii U ports in the works.

This is no surprise as Nintendo has been leaning hard on the Wii U’s library since the first year of the Switch. Because of this, it’s pretty easy to guess what’s coming up next.

Some obvious choices would be Pikmin 3 and Super Mario 3D World, but I’m personally hoping to see The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remasters in a single package. Rogers went on to mention that the beginning of the year won’t see many releases from Nintendo, (“Nintendo is obviously treating Animal Crossing as their big March title,” she says.) and she is a little worried the company might rely too much on re-releases this year.

Nonetheless, this Wii U ports news is pretty exciting when coupled with speculation of a Nintendo Direct coming soon. So hopefully we’ll hear about these Wii U ports soon.

In my opinion, it would be nice to see more Wii U games come to the Switch. Many people didn’t get a chance to play them on the original system, so they’re always welcome on more modern hardware.

What do you all think of this? Which Wii U ports do you want to come to the Switch? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I love all kinds of video games. I personally find the most enjoyment in JRPGs, Visual Novels, and pretty much anything Nintendo makes. I'm always open to discovering new types of games, so I'll be happy to check out anything someone suggests.
