The gaming world sure has changed from since the 1990s. During that time, action/adventure platformers were the bread-&-butter of the gaming industry. Titles like Super Mario 64, Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter and Spyro may revive some old memories of those more innocent times. Now-a-days, it’s all about dark, gritty shooters and open-world adventures. Thankfully, our own Nintendo still believes in color, and as do several indie developers.

When it comes down to Nintendo, Mario and Donkey Kong weren\’t there only platforming heroes. Banjo-Kazooie is one of the many critically-acclaimed titles that grace the N64. Owned by RARE (the \’R\’ group, not whatever Microsoft has now, remember that) — the game is considered by many to be one of the best 3D action/adventure platformers that have ever been created.

The duo hasn\’t seen official action in eons, and there’s no telling when Microsoft will notice the hoard of gold they\’re HALO-induced developers are sitting on. So, some indie developers have turned to Kickstarter, to make this dream (sort-of) come true.

Enter Clive-N-Wrench, an up-coming indie-made 3D action/adventure platformer, that’s described as a game: \”featuring time traveling, plenty of collectables, enemies, mini-games and good old fashioned platforming.\”

This spiritual-successor to Banjo-Kazooie is asking for about $38,439 (U.S. dollars) in order to make it happen. Head over to the game’s Kickstarter page to check it out.
