Niko Partners Analyst Daniel Ahmad has some bad news for people looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch. In a recent tweet, Ahmad mentioned that shortages for the system will likely last for the remainder of 2017.
Expect Nintendo Switch shortages to continue through the rest of the year.
Production is still capped right now due to component shortages.

With production capped, there is not much Nintendo can do at this point. If you still haven’t found a Switch at retail, you’ll have to play the waiting game, unless you are fine with overpaying from a secondary seller.
