Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio Wired Controller

There have been several third party controllers on Switch, including Hori’s d-pad equipped Joy-Con, but PDP’s Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio wired controller is the first third party Switch controller to address a glaring omission on the otherwise fantastic Pro Controller: the lack of a headphone jack.

While the Switch itself has a headphone jack for use in handheld mode, for whatever reason, the Pro Controller and other third party options have never had a headphone jack. PDP’s Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio offers a few other features as well, including programmable paddles and a function button that enables volume control from the directional pad. As part of PDP’s Faceoff line, the controller’s shell can also be easily removed to easily customize buttons, sticks, and the controller itself. Unfortunately, there is no rumble support and there is no wireless option. The controller costs $24.99 and can be found on Amazon and PDP’s own website. Currently, the controller is available in four different camo colors: red, blue, black, and purple.

So, what do you think of this controller? The Faceoff Deluxe+ Audio’s name is a bit of a mouthful, but the functionality of the controller itself is sure to catch a few eyes. A headphone jack has been sorely needed on a Switch control pad for a long, long time, and I am glad that someone finally took a crack at it.
