Fans of over-the-top anime action are in for a treat, as the debut console RPG adaptation of the iconic Fairy Tail series is set to arrive in just a couple of months. Produced by Koei Tecmo and developed by Atelier franchise creators Gust, the turn-based RPG experience already has over a dozen playable characters confirmed as potentially party members for you to link up with during your journey. According to the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine, though, special non-playable guest characters will also be popping in and out of your party throughout the game.
So far, four guest characters are confirmed to be diving into your party in Fairy Tail, none of whom are members of the Fairy Tail guild that your playable party members come from. The first is Ultear Milkovich, a female mage who used to belong to the Magic Council and the Grimoire Heart who is heavily involved in the Grand Magic Games arc. There’s also Lyon Vastia, an Ice-Make Mage from Lamia Scale who is also involved in the Grand Magic Games arc. Then there’s Flare Corona, an elite mage from the Raven Tail Guild who, you guessed it, is featured in the Grand Magic Games arc. Finally, there’s Minerva Orland, the strongest member of Sabertooth and yet another participant in the Grand Magic Games arc. Each of these four characters will join your party briefly during the game, automatically performing actions while you control the rest of your group.
Fairy Tail is set to release for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on June 25 in Europe and Japan and June 26 in North America.
