Fairy Tail

The latest JRPG adventure from Koei Tecmo and Atelier series developer Gust, Fairy Tail, has had some sour luck over the last few months. The console game adaptation of the massive manga and anime series of the same name was initially slated to launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam in March of 2020. In February, though, the game was suddenly hit with a delay all the way into June 25. A month before that release, though, it was delayed once again to July 31. Now, to help tide fans over and remind them of what they can expect from the highly anticipated JRPG adventure, Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer detailing the characters and features of Fairy Tail.

While the main story of the upcoming Fairy Tail game is set to faithfully adapt a series of arcs from the original manga and anime, there’s also a bevy of original stories to experience thanks to the Character Stories system in the game. As you recruit new members to your guild, you’ll be able to trigger special story events around the city and within your guild headquarters. These story events let you witness brand new interactions between fan favorites, including some pairings that might not have interacted much in the original story. Many of the characters in these story events can also be added to your battle party, and strengthening your connections with these party members will even unlock impressive new skills to use in battle.

Fairy Tail is set to arrive worldwide July 31 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
