The prestigious and famously buggy Fallout series is receiving a television adaptation to air on Amazon. Westworld TV series co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are helming the series as executive producers, and it will be a collaboration among Amazon Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Bethesda Softworks. Notably, Bethesda’s Todd Howard and James Altman are also attached as executive producers, along with Kilter’s Athena Wickham.
The Fallout Amazon series intends to retain the spirit of the video games, combining the grit of a post-nuclear apocalypse world with dark and zany humor. Along those lines, Nolan and Joy shared the following joint statement: “Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”
Admittedly, this franchise has had minimal presence on Nintendo platforms, but don’t forget that Fallout Shelter exists! That counts for something. Stay tuned for further developments on this Amazon series.
