Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water update adds 'Very Easy' difficulty

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water has been out for a couple of weeks now, and it recently got an update that adds a “Very Easy” difficulty to the game. In addition to the new difficulty, the update version 1.0.2. adds various bug fixes, display issue fixes, and corrections for typos.

The main highlight of the 1.02 update is the Very Easy difficulty that Koei Tecmo added for players who aren’t great at survival horror games but just want to enjoy the story while sniping ghosts using the Camera Obscura with ease. Check out the full patch notes below:

  • Added the VERY EASY difficulty.
    VERY EASY difficulty is for players who want to enjoy the story safely.
  • Alleviated an issue which caused cleared save data to be lost after an application error.
  • Fixed various bugs and defects.
  • Fixed display issues.
  • Corrected typographical errors and messages.

The previous update Ver. 1.01 didn’t add anything major, but it optimized the loading of some of the stages and added other miscellaneous fixes.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is immediately available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Unfortunately, if you’re hoping for more remasters or enhanced ports, Koei Tecmo doesn’t have any further plans for it. You can read more in an interview with sister site Siliconera.
