E3 is now underway and one of the first games to come out of it is EA’s FIFA 19. The game is on the show floor for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch version.

Some folks from Press Start have gotten their hands on a playable demo of the Switch version of the game. According to them, it’s closer to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game in terms of both gameplay mechanics and graphical fidelity. EA already confirmed a little while ago that the graphics of FIFA 19 have been upgraded on Switch from last year’s release, so this isn’t really surprising. One truly new detail is that the Switch version of FIFA 19 now includes support for online multiplayer with friends. This feature was missing from FIFA 18. Here’s a description:

“Enjoy new ways to play on Switch including Online Friendlies. Invite anyone from your friend list and track your rivalry through a five-match season, both in FIFA and FIFA Ultimate Team.”

As E3 rolls on, we should no doubt see some gameplay footage crop up soon enough.
