Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition release date worldwide August 27 Square Enix

A few months ago, we reported on the TGS announcement that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition would release on Jan 23, 2020. Since then, news has been quiet on the upcoming remaster of the inventive GameCube and Game Boy Advance dungeon crawler. Well, we finally have more news on the game, but it isn’t exactly great news. The remaster has been delayed, and will now launch in the summer of 2020.

This isn’t the first time the game has seen a delay. It was originally on track to release in 2019, until it was pushed back to the early 2020 release date.

Square Enix shared the following message in regards to the delay announcement:

Since announcing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, we’ve read so many positive messages filled with encouragement, and all of us on the team would like to thank you for the support you’ve shown us so far. Today we’re announcing that the release date for the game is being moved to Summer 2020.

We’ve made the decision to adjust the release date to allow the development team some extra time to make final adjustments to the game to make this the best experience possible. We know you’ve been waiting patiently for this game, and we hope you’ll continue to support us as you have done so far, over the coming months through to launch. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. You’ll be able to play online with your friends and transfer your save file across all four platforms when the game launches in Summer 2020. Thank you again, from all of us on the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition team.

On top of the wealth of newly remastered items, visuals, and voices in the game, the cross-play capabilities of the re-release seem incredible – if they can be pulled off properly.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will now release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android in the summer of 2020.
