Following a release in Japan way back in October of 2012, the novel Final Fantasy I * II * III: Memory of Heroes will finally be published in English on Aug. 18, and preorders are open at Amazon now. Even though Square Enix has its own publishing arrangement with Penguin Random House, the publication of this book is being handled by Yen Press, a New York-based publisher of graphic novels, manga, and light novels.
Final Fantasy I * II * III: Memory of Heroes is a novelization of the stories of the three first Final Fantasy games. More specifically, it is a collection of three stories, each pertaining to one game, all written by Takashi Umemura. Amazon offers the following description: “Light and darkness hold the world in balance — and should that equilibrium ever break, only the four warriors chosen by the Crystals can prevent inevitable ruin. This is the story of three times the balance shifted — and the three bands of friends who came together to save the world.”
Fingers crossed that Square Enix and Yen Press found a good translator, so that we get the full effect.

Will you be purchasing it? Personally, I am exactly the kind of nerd to be all over this.
