Last month at Gamescom, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata teased a franchise-related announcement for Switch. Since then, nothing has been officially announced. However, Kotaku reached out to Tabata to get some more information regarding what he said last month.

It was just kind of a joke response. That said, we aren’t dismissing the hardware in any way. We believe it’s a great platform, and we’re open to looking for opportunities. And if the opportunity presents itself, and there’s something we can do on that given platform, we’d like to do it.”

So, unless he’s being coy, it looks like Final Fantasy fans don’t have anything to look forward to on Switch – yet, that is.

Do you think Square Enix could port Final Fantasy XV over to Nintendo’s home console-handheld hybrid? Comment below, let us know.
