Fire Emblem: Three Houses opening cutscene

Ahead of its release two weeks from today, Fire Emblem: Three Houses has been making plenty of headlines lately. In just the last few days, we have seen introductory trailers, interviews detailing the series and its return to consoles, and, most notably, accounts of the game’s obscene length. Today, that exciting trickle of news continued with the reveal of the Fire Emblem: Three Houses opening cutscene, which dropped on GameXplain this morning. You can view the cutscene below.

Pretty rough, huh? The scene wastes no time jumping into a massive, deadly battle loaded with clanging metal and blustering waves of magic. After a tense one-on-one showdown, the battle dies down, but the hero of the trailer, Lady Seiros, escorts her nemesis to a bloody end. Combined with so much of what we are seeing in previews, the Fire Emblem: Three Houses opening cutscene further implies a dark, emotional game, and personally, I could not be more excited.

What do you think of the video? Are you excited for Fire Emblem: Three Houses? As the first Switch game for the series, and the first console title since Radiant Dawn on the Wii, I am very interested in watching the series further evolve after its boom in popularity that came on the 3DS. So far, Three Houses looks set to deliver on all fronts.
