We recently reported that Scott Cawthon’s Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise was making its debut on the Nintendo Switch with the first three games, releasing on Nov. 29. However, Europe and Australia now have eShop pages noting that Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 will also release on the same day. It stands to reason that an eShop listing for North America will soon follow.
Originally released in July 2015, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 marks itself as a prequel to the second game (which was also a point-and-click horror game). It’s the last numbered game that has been released and features a variety of mini-games that flesh out the series’s greater lore. Here’s the summary that’s currently up on the Nintendo eShop:
In this last chapter of the Five Nights at Freddy’s original story, you must once again defend yourself against Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and even worse things that lurk in the shadows. Playing as a child whose role is yet unknown, you must safeguard yourself until 6am by watching the doors, as well as warding off unwanted creatures that may venture into your closet or onto the bed behind you.
You have only a flashlight to protect yourself. It will scare away things that may be creeping at the far end of the hallways, but be careful, and listen. If something has crept too close, then shining lights in its eyes will be your end.
We’ll let you know if any other games in the series get announced to come to Switch. In the meantime, are you excited to play through Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 and the greater series on the Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments.
