Love it or hate it, the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is still going strong. Last November, the first four games in the franchise jumped their way onto the eShop. Now it’s time for even more jump scares, as the most recent entry, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, is available digitally on Switch.
Originally released using virtual reality almost one year ago, Help Wanted is a collection of classic and original minigames based on the franchise’s prior releases. In universe, these games were designed by Fazbear Entertainment as an attempt to rewrite public opinion and convince players that the horrific events preceding it were nothing but rumors and urban legends. Of course, this is Five Nights at Freddy’s, so observant players may find evidence that things aren’t quite what they seem.
Though many, like myself, may be surprised by this release, it hasn’t really been much of a secret to begin with. Developer Steel Wool Games first announced a Help Wanted port earlier this year, but due to the developing coronavirus situation, couldn’t give a firm release date. And though today marks the first official confirmation of the date, the game’s eShop page accidentally went live for a brief time late last month, revealing today as the planned launch date.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted is available now via the Switch eShop at a price of $29.99. While that seems a little pricey for a Five Nights game, there’s a lot of content here compared to prior releases. But if you’re still on the fence about it, check out the trailer above!
