Former Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono, best known for his work on the Street Fighter series, will become the next president and COO of DelightWorks. Ono will take his new role with the Fate/Grand Order developer starting on May 1, 2021. Meanwhile, the DelightWorks founder and current president, Akihito Shoji, will assume the role of CEO and chairman.
If you’re not familiar with Yoshinori Ono, there’s a good chance you’ve seen pictures of his many cosplays or selfies with fans and his Blanca toy that he got from a McDonald’s Kids Meal decades ago. While he often poked fun at himself for his poor English, he always made an effort, nonetheless, and won over the hearts of many fans over the years. Ono joined Capcom as a sound producer in 1998 and left the company in August 2020.
Here’s a message from Yoshinori Ono about taking on a new role at DelightWorks from his Facebook account.
