Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 leak suggests the map will be flooded

Fortnite leaker Lucas7yoshi has posted a new Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 leak. This comes in the form of a piece of artwork found on the PlayStation Store. Lucas7yoshi speculates that the image was meant to be removed with the delay of Chapter 3, but it wasn’t.

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 is set to launch on June 11 after another delay, though no new details about the season have surfaced just yet. This image gives us our first glimpse at what the season will bring — or remove, as the case may be. The Battle Bus is simply flying across the ocean, which many believe is where Fortnite‘s map used to be.

Each season brings a change to the map in Fortnite. In the past we’ve seen icebergs crashing, complete freezes followed by thaws, and even meteors that result in a world-shattering cataclysm. By comparison, a flood wouldn’t be so bad, and with vehicles such as boats, which were added with Fortnite Chapter 2, traversing a world covered with water wouldn’t be that difficult.

Flooding the map would make for a fantastic opportunity for the game to offer a season full of pirate-themed cosmetics. But without more information, all we can do is dream about the kinds of battles we’ll be having on this new water world.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
