A few days after PUBG Corporation dropped its copyright lawsuit, Epic Games is hinting at what is next for Fortnite. The game’s fifth season starts July 12, and Epic wants people to “Look to the sky” this Saturday. When a new one-time event called Blast Off will be taking place.
Per an in-game message, players must be in-match on Saturday no later than 10:30 am Pacific time. If you are on the east coast you must be in-match by 1:30 pm. For those who are in the middle of the United States, your time is 7:30 pm central time. There are numerous guesses as to what this Fortnite event includes.
But judging by the image displayed next to the information, it is safe to say it more than likely involves the Evil Lair. The lair can be found on the map just above and to the right of Snobby Shore. But what is inside is what makes the location and the event both very intriguing. Inside of the Evil Lair is a rocket.
With its nose exposed, poking through the roof of the building, and an event called Blast Off something involving the rocket will likely be going down. Especially since a siren has been going off outside of the Evil Lair throughout the week. This is a genius move by Epic Games.
It is also a very sinister one. Players are going to be running and gunning their way to its location and fighting in one area just to see what happens. Now a few leaks have let it become known as to what could possibly happen on Saturday, so if you want to go into the event surprised, you may want to skip the next few paragraphs so it goes unspoiled for you.
During the V4.5 update, rocket boosters appeared. But after a short time, they suddenly (and mysteriously) vanished from their location at Anarchy Acres. Which means the rocket will likely be taking off. Then, this tweet from @TwoEpicBuddies, a couple of Youtuber’s, was posted on Thursday.

So the rocket will be taking off and land in Moisty Mires. Its explosion will cause a huge leviathan to emerge in the area, creating a new game mode. It is basically like overtime in the National Football League. One team comprised of 50 players will try to guide the Leviathan to either Greasy Grove or Wailing Woods.
One of the team members will quarterback and be in control of the Leviathan, while the other team tries to stop them. But here is where the new mode in Fortnite gets really intense. There will be infinite respawns and your ability to build will be gone.
Adding to the intensity and possible frustration between teams. Plus getting to see who controls the Leviathan will be interesting. Having a one-day event like Blast Off adds to Fortnite’s allure over other games with battle royale modes. It presents players and other gamers with the opportunity to be part of something special.
Causing them to play the game and in many cases stream it over and over again. Epic Games has been delivering new content thus keeping the game refreshing in most aspects. Making both Saturday and season five something to look forward to.
