Pokémon GO is finally getting the one monster it’s been sorely lacking: That’s right, Galarian Slowpoke is finally making its debut, and it’s bringing along Galarian Slowbro and Mega Slowbro for the ride. They’ll be appearing in the “A Very Slow Discovery” event from June 8 at 10 a.m. to June 13 at 8 p.m. (local time). True to form, Galarian Slowking will be taking its time and showing up at a later date.
The event is sure to be a relaxing jaunt through the world of Pokémon GO, with other monsters that know the value of slow and steady. Slowpoke, Slakoth, Gulpin, Spoink, Vigoroth, and more will appear at higher rates. Mega Slowbrow is coming to Mega Raids, while regular raids will feature Galarian Slowpoke, Alolan Grimer, Shellder, Shinx, Timburr, Snorlax, Slowking, Slaking, and Toxicroak. There’s a collection challenge, as well as Slowpoke stickers and accessories for your avatar.
Even Niantic credits Galarian Slowpoke as being an inspiration, so take it slow (bro) and catch these marvelous creatures when they drop next week. Hopefully you’ll have a chance to take a soothing stroll (local restrictions permitting) as you experience the joy and vapid wonder that defines these noble beasts. No word on whether or not our Pokémon GO avatars will be able to enjoy their spices, but I for one am looking forward to finding out.
Keep an eye out for Galarian Slowpoke and Slowbro in Pokémon GO.
