Pokemon Sword and Shield Legendary Pokemon Game Freak The Crown Tundra

Pokémon Sword and Shield are about to expand again with the launch of The Crown Tundra. This is the second DLC pack in the Expansion Pass, following The Isle of Armor. It takes players to the frozen tundra to lead an expedition team deep inside of Pokémon dens. Here, you’ll encounter Legendary Pokémon from past generations, and today we got some great news. Game Freak has just confirmed that all past Legendary Pokémon will be available after the second DLC pack releases.

Game Freak brings back all Legendary Pokémon

Despite their massive success, Pokémon Sword and Shield have faced much backlash for the decision to slim down the Pokédex. The games launched with “only” 400 of the collectible monsters, when there’s over 1,000 in the series. However, Game Freak brought more Pokémon to Galar through Pokémon Home, and then again through The Isle of Armor. The Crown Tundra will offer the most impressive expansion yet by including every past Legendary Pokémon. Note that some will be version-exclusive, so you’ll have to trade or team up for Max Raid Battles with friends who own the other version.

The Crown Tundra evolves the game

This will be welcome for players who have been missing their favorite Legendary Pokémon from past generations. It should also significantly impact the competitive scene, as many of these returning monsters are elite fighters. Additionally, we once again saw what appear to be brand new forms for Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno. I can’t wait to get my hands on them! It won’t be long now, as The Crown Tundra launches on October 22.
