Last week, details emerged suggesting the physical release of Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered would be a GameStop exclusive. Now, this seems to be the reality. Taking a peek at the listing for the game on the GameStop website comes with unmissable text: “Only at GameStop.” That would be a bold thing to say if it weren’t true, huh? Preorders are open now, and the game costs $29.99 USD on Switch and other consoles.
How far this GameStop exclusivity applies is uncertain, considering the company exists across 14 countries according to their website. It seems to be at least for the United States and Canada, since the Canadian website marks Ghostbusters as “EB Exclusive.” (EB Games is the same company as GameStop.)
As long as you live within driving distance of a GameStop — and you probably do — this shouldn’t be an issue. Simply having the game mailed to your house isn’t a big deal either. Whoever wants Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will be able to get their literal hands on it.
I know some people really hate the company, but I don’t have any hard feelings toward them. The company is going through definite upheaval right now, and it’s doing the best it can to survive. For the sake of its myriad employees, I hope the transformation works out for them.
