Star Wars Day sale

A long time ago, an evil empire tried to take over a galaxy far, far away. But thanks to an alliance of rebels, the takeover plans failed spectacularly. To commemorate both this incredible victory and the sacrifices that were made along the way, we celebrate these so called “star wars” every year on May 4th, or “Star Wars Day.” One common way we partake in observance of this holiday is to enjoy the various forms of media depicting these events of yore, and thankfully we can often find them at a nice discount. This year’s celebrations are no different, featuring a slew of games on sale right now through May 12th.

For those inclined to take to the air in the lightning fast podracers, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer can be yours for $7.49 (50% off). However, if the way of the Jedi appeals to you more, you can learn to use the force in Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast for $9.99 and $4.99, respectively. Those who want to kick back an enjoy a nice game of pinball can pick up Star Wars Pinball for $17.99 (40% off). Lastly, for the creative types, you can get up to 33% off Star Wars skins on the Minecraft Marketplace, as well as picking up a free R2-D2 beanie, though these are only available through May 6th.

Personally, I think I might pick up Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer and Star Wars Pinball. I never got a chance to play Episode 1 Racer back on the Nintendo 64 (though even if I had, I wasn’t a fan at the time, so I wouldn’t have cared), and I’m a massive pinball fan so it’d be nice to be able to take that on the go. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate Star Wars Day though, there’s no question there’s some nice sales waiting for you here. Be sure to pick them up while you can. And as they say, “May the 4th be with you.”
