At BitSummit tonight, Inti Creates announced Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 2, the sequel to the 2019 sidescroller that itself was a spin-off of the Azure Striker Gunvolt franchise. Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 2 will launch for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on January 27, 2022 for $24.99. It will release digitally and in some capacity physically on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4; the physical release details are already determined for Asia, but information for the physical release for the West are still to come (but it is coming).
This time around, among other things, Copen has a new Razor Wheel spinning blade weapon. He also has two forms, power-centric Break-Shift and speed-centric Bullit-Shift (not a typo). Plus, “The Muse of Hope, Lola, is lovelier than ever thanks to a software update! Her songs really light up the stage!” She has new abilities, such as an anthem that might potentially revive you. Additionally, Null, a new partner, will help Copen. This game apparently occurs in a parallel world where only robots exist. It is a “hard-boiled, standalone story!”
BitSummit included a Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 2 trailer with some additional English, but at present, only the fully Japanese version is available, which we have embedded above. This article will be updated with the English version when it becomes available, but fortunately, you can enjoy the action in any language.
