Nintendo Switch Hades ver 1.0 launches today available now discount Supergiant Games Zagreus roguelike

After first being announced for Nintendo Switch during the August Indie World Showcase, Hades ver. 1.0 from Supergiant Games is now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop with a launch discount, $19.99 instead of $24.99. It is a roguelike dungeon crawler where you play as Zagreus, the son of Hades, attempting to leave the Underworld. (It’s just like a prodigal son to want to fly the coop.) You’ll use assorted abilities and mythical weapons to battle and get stronger. Likewise, different gods of Olympus can offer you different “powerful Boons that enhance your abilities,” with myriad character builds possible.

Supergiant Games has produced only a handful of games, but each one has gained a lot of renown, including its breakout hit Bastion, as well as Pyre and Transistor. Hades, like its predecessors, packs some distinct art and apparently a good degree of polish. The game actually was first released to the public via Epic Games Store in early access in 2018, and now, a long while later, the complete ver. 1.0 game is at last available on Nintendo Switch and PC alike.

It’s funny to think many of us a couple months ago were concerned that Nintendo wouldn’t have much of a holiday lineup this year. With Hades and so many other games, third-party and first-party, Nintendo Switch will do just fine this Christmas.
