This spring, Yo-kai Watch 4 will release in Japan for the Nintendo Switch. Its trailer debuted just last week and showed off a cutesy, anime-esque aesthetic. It seems to be a trademark of developer Level-5, who previously developed the PlayStation exclusive series, Ni no Kuni. Today, 12 minutes of gameplay footage of the upcoming Yo-kai Watch 4 have surfaced, courtesy of the World Hobby Fair Winter 2019. The fair ran last week from Jan.19 to 20 in Nagoya, runs today and tomorrow in Tokyo, and again on Feb. 17-18 in Osaka.
Another six-minute gameplay video has been uncovered by Gematsu below.
Yo-kai Watch 3 was released on the Nintendo 3DS in July of 2016 in Japan, while its western localization will finally be releasing in North America on February 8. There’s no news on any western ports of Yo-kai Watch 4 as of yet, but just as with previous entries in the series, some buffer time is expected. Make sure to check out the recent game trailer if you haven’t.
