Fortnite: Battle Royale has quickly become one of the most popular games in the industry. What started as an interesting PVE video game, unexpectedly turned into a phenomenon when Epic Games released the competitive mode.  I’ve been playing the game a lot over the past few weeks, but a few days ago, a friend told me about a mechanic he discovered while playing.

Did you know that it’s possible to run automatically? If you’re blown away by this revelation, don’t worry, I was too. This is a mechanic that the game doesn’t teach you. Once it was explained to me, my gameplay improved. By clicking the left stick down two times, your character will begin sprinting on its own. While in this mode, you can still aim with the right stick, attack with your weapons, jump, and build.

Moving the left stick while automatically running will nullify the sprinting motion, making you double-click the stick again if you want to initiate the maneuver again. It’s an interesting gameplay mechanic that would have been nice to know about in the early days of Fortnite: Battle Royale. Doing this has improved my gameplay a lot, and it’s also helped me hone my skills in shooting, building, and traversing the environments.

Do you play Fortnite: Battle Royale? Did you know about automatic running? If so, do you use the mechanic often? Leave a comment below.
