Cyberpunk 2077 might the most-hyped video game launch to date, but its debut has been controversial. Performance issues and bugs are numerous, especially on older hardware. It’s hard to believe that just a year ago CD Projekt Red was musing about the possibility of a Switch port. That would be impossible, right? Well, it depends on how loose your definition of “port” is. With cloud streaming tech, new possibilities are available. A new video from Nintendrew shows players how to get the game running on Nintendo’s handheld with Google Stadia.

To pull this off, you’ll need to mod your Switch to run Android apps. This isn’t terribly difficult, but it’s frowned upon by Nintendo, and a mistake can permanently damage your console. For those brave enough, Nintendrew has linked to some tutorials. Proceed with caution. Once this is done, you can easily download Stadia from the Google Play Store and start browsing games. Cyberpunk 2077 was used here to show off performance, but there are plenty of other games that previously weren’t available on Switch.
Nintendrew doesn’t exactly give a detailed performance breakdown, but his video shows Cyberpunk 2077 running fairly smoothly. He reports that his performance was significantly better than last-gen consoles and on par with newer platforms. It makes you wonder what Nintendo could do with an official cloud streaming service in the vein of Stadia.
