We here at Nintendo Enthusiast believe Switch’s Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an excellent time. It’s a great game on the Wii U and it’s even better on Switch thanks to the added expansion. Even though the title has been out for only a short while, gamers have been discovering interesting secrets hidden within. Like Twitter user Nickolox, who has unearthed evidence of Toadette either once being considered as a playable character or as an upcoming addition to the game.
Super Mario 3D World with Toadette will just add to a completionist’s nightmare
Here is Nickolox’s tweet explaining their datamine findings:
I've been doing some digging through SM3DW's files, recently.
Toadette was going to be playable at some point. So far I've found a few traces of her in the player files.
She has a voice line for being selected, and I also found 214 player animations.
No models however.— Nickolox (@Nickoloxx) February 17, 2021
That’s not all. The plot thickens when a user asks for evidence:
I dunno how to rip it but I did manage to get it to load in game pic.twitter.com/UFbDMqXHje

Yep, that’s definitely Toadette’s voice. I’d recognize it anywhere since I played quite a bit of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
Since this discovery was made on the Switch version of Super Mario 3D World and not the Wii U one, I believe this signifies Toadette eventually making her way to the five-player co-op adventure. As always, take all of this information with a grain of salt until we get confirmation from Nintendo, if ever.
