Hitman 3 – Cloud Version, along with Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version, was announced for Nintendo Switch out of nowhere back in October at a Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. However, whereas Control shadow dropped that same day, Hitman 3 did not have a concrete release date. We only knew that it would be releasing on all the other platforms on Jan. 20, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. But today, developer IO Interactive finally confirmed that Hitman 3 – Cloud Version will launch on Nintendo Switch alongside the other versions on the same date.

That being said, IO Interactive has still been mum about some other details for Hitman 3 – Cloud Version. For instance, on other platforms, those who already own Hitman and Hitman 2 can import all of those games’ content and progress into this final game at no additional cost. Since neither of the previous games is available on Switch, it would imply none of that content will be accessible to Switch players, but it doesn’t seem IO has outright confirmed that yet.
Although, it’s clear that no one will buy the cloud version because it’s the best version of the game. People will buy it as a matter of convenience and accessibility. Players who really want the best experience will probably want to buy it for PlayStation 5, where it also comes with a free digital download of the PlayStation 4 version so that players can play the PS4 version in PlayStation VR.
