Today, May 10, the Hitman 3 May Patch releases across all its platforms and begins the “Season of Pride,” the second act of the Seven Deadly Sins DLC series. However, on Nintendo Switch in particular, IO Interactive is giving Hitman 3 – Cloud Version a Performance Mode option that enables 60 FPS at 720p, as opposed to the usual 30 FPS at 1080p. A new 10-minute Dubai demo trial is available to try out Performance Mode. The Switch version has additionally received the Steady Aim function on the L button.
About Steady Aim, IO Interactive explained, “This allows you to improve your aim and slow time when aiming with a Sniper Rifle with the Marksman perk, especially useful for the Sniper Assassin game mode and certain Mission Stories. The in-game UI and controller maps will display this accurately.” IO also noted that it’s possible to go into the options menu to toggle whether you hold or tap ZL to aim a weapon.
We were not enamored with the online streaming performance in our review of Hitman 3 – Cloud Version, but it’s better than nothing. Hitman 3 Performance Mode sounds enticing for Nintendo Switch players, and you might as well give the new Dubai demo trial a go if you’re interested in the game.
