Horizon: Zero Dawn

Following the breakout success of Horizon: Zero Dawn in 2017, the game’s protagonist, Aloy, has worked her way to the forefront of PlayStation’s various promotion and marketing exploits. Most recently, Aloy was revealed to be set to appear in popular free-to-play title Genshin Impact as a new character. Seems strange, but sure, why not? Aloy’s appearance in the game is relevant to Nintendo Enthusiast because Genshin Impact is still slated to land on Switch someday. In the meantime, you can take a first look at Aloy in Genshin Impact in the video below.

According to a screen that briefly appears at the end of the trailer, the Horizon: Zero Dawn star will appear on September 1. She’ll be unlockable for free, and will be playable early on PS4 and PS5 systems, though it’s not clear how early.

Seeing Aloy adapted for the Genshin Impact art style and its gameplay is a strange sight, indeed. Still, it is fun to see off-the-wall guest characters like this. It’s a great way to spice up a free game and get players back into the fold.

Are you a fan of Horizon: Zero Dawn? What about Genshin Impact? If you have played both, how are you feeling about this crossover? Will you dive in and try to unlock Aloy? What other guest characters would you like to see in the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
