Pokémon X and Y introduced the concept of trainer customization in 2013, and it returns in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on Nintendo Switch. However, it’s not as robust this time around, as you can’t change specific parts of your outfit — you’re restricted to what’s available in the Metronome Style Shop in Veilstone City. After defeating the second gym leader and traversing through routes 210 and 215, you will eventually make your way to Veilstone City, home of the Metronome Style Shop. This building is located in the middle of the city, the one with a couple Clefairy on the shop’s banner. Entering the Metronome Style Shop will allow you to speak to the clerk, which will unlock trainer customization to make yourself look fancy while exploring the Sinnoh region in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If you want to change your current outfit, select “change your style” when speaking to the clerk.

How to receive the Pokémon Platinum outfit in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Peaerl

As soon as you receive the Mystery Gift option on the menu, search for gifts via the internet. Two gifts are available at launch, Manaphy and the Clothing Gift. Selecting the latter will allow you to receive costumes based on 2009’s Pokémon Platinum. If you want to equip this costume, simply enter the Metronome Style Shop and choose the Platinum outfit from the list of options.
