You have a lot of Nintendo-centric novelty pillows and the like to choose from these days. For instance, there are the legendary Kirby nap pillow and the Gengar pillow / futon, both of which allow you to physically stick your head inside. However, via Famitsu, Takara Tomy is offering an even more adorable (and less weird) option with a huge Kirby pillow that will retail for 11,000 yen, or $104.80 USD. Its dimensions are 60 cm x 38 cm x 80 cm, but the accompanying photos do the best job of conveying that this is a chonky boi.
Placing some trust in Google Translate, it appears to be able to preorder through the month of February and will ship in June. Officially, this huge Kirby pillow is for ages 6 and up, but since it’s made of polyester and polyurethane — not razor blades — I think it’s safe for someone a little younger too. Whether it is actually available in any capacity to consumers outside of Japan is unclear. Also, just for fun, we’ll tell you that the Google Translate name for the huge Kirby pillow is “Kirby of the Stars, Easy Friend, Relax at Home, Kirby.”
The world of Nintendo merchandise gets more fun all the time. It’s just too bad that world stays localized to Japan so much of the time.
