Ikaruga

The Switch’s combination of portability and home console play makes it an ideal platform for ports of games from last-gen and even earlier. The prospects of being able to take some of my favorite console games on the go with a high-quality portable platform is simply too hard to resist. Sometimes, I’ll even grab a port or remaster of one of my favorite console or portable games just so that I can experience it both ways with the Switch. How many times have you rebought an old favorite on the Switch? What games have you double-dipped on?

For me, I can think of several off the top of my head. Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV, Burnout Paradise Remastered, and Ikaruga all come to mind right away. I also grabbed Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated on Switch purely because I wanted to play a childhood favorite Gamecube game on the go. There are several other games that I’d grab without hesitation – just about any Grand Theft Auto, any of the rumored 3D Mario remasters, Persona 34, or 5, and many more.

How many games have you rebought so that you could play them on Switch? Was reexperiencing them on a handheld or home system worth the second plunge? Let us know in the comments below.
