We’ve known for a while that Ubisoft’s Immortals Fenyx Rising is making its way to Nintendo Switch. From the developer that delivered 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Immortals Fenyx Rising looks like Odyssey and Zelda had a baby. At yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, we finally got a look at the game running on Switch hardware.
What’s great here is it looks like Immortals Fenyx Rising‘s injection of color makes its way over to Switch unscathed. You’ll discover vast open landscapes that wouldn’t feel amiss in something like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The art style in general is reminiscent of the latest mainline Zelda entry too, and Immortals Fenyx Rising could hold you over until the Breath of the Wild sequel.
Of course, the game also brings over the Greek mythology themes from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as we can see evidence of Greece in the game’s architecture and characters like Hermes factor into the story. This is all translated over to Switch too, and the trailer shows off some sweeping camera angles from afar. While some of the fine detail is missing from the other versions, draw distances look great and we’re convinced Immortals Fenyx Rising will look mighty fine on the Switch’s handheld screen.
Immortals Fenyx Rising arrives Dec. 3, 2020.
