Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu Zelda II remake Nintendo

As reported last year, it is the “dream” of Inti Creates president and CEO Takuya Aizu to remake Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. VGC recently revisited the topic with Aizu, asking him if they think Grezzo’s remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening increases the likelihood of Inti Creates getting to remake Zelda II.

Unfortunately, Aizu believes the Link’s Awakening remake doesn’t impact his company’s chances. But he then added this to the discussion:

I just happen to really like Zelda II and when [originally asked last year], I said that would be my dream remake. It’s not like some super, grand ambition or anything like that. Obviously there are a lot of hurdles to make those sorts of games, but in a perfect world we could easily do that here at Inti Creates if Nintendo let us. It would be cool!

Frankly, I really wish Aizu would just pick up the phone and start a discussion with Nintendo about it, because I have massive faith in Inti Creates delivering a high-quality Zelda II remake. After all, when they approached Capcom and Keiji Inafune with the concept for Mega Man Zero, the results were gangbusters. I’d like to see history repeat itself.

Post-Mega Man Zero, Inti Creates has kept busy lately with Dragon Marked for Death, Gal*Gun, and Gunvolt.
