Super Lucky’s Tale, the Xbox One, and Windows 10 platform game might be coming to Switch. Nintendo Everything reports that Playful Concept Artist, Taylor Smith, referenced Switch in his resume. The quote in particular talks about “environmental assets for the upcoming Nintendo Switch port.”

Super Lucky’s Tale launched for Xbox One and Windows 10 on November 7th, 2017. It received average reception, and I think it has to do partly because the stellar Super Mario Odyssey launched one week prior. Super Lucky’s Tale is in no way a bad game. In fact, there is a lot to enjoy, but the simple matter is that many games in the genre accomplish what Super Lucky’s Tale attempts to do, but better.

Super Lucky’s Tale coming to Nintendo Switch would be an exciting move. The character is now associated with the Microsoft brand. It launched alongside the Xbox One X in 2017 and utilized cross-buy between platforms. It’s worth noting that while Super Lucky’s Tale was published by Microsoft Games Studios, Playful Corp. is not owned by Microsoft.

Is this the start of something new?

Microsoft and Nintendo teaming up can happen. After all, Xbox Live was needed to use Minecraft on Nintendo Switch. Both companies also worked together when promoting cross-play in Fortnite. Also, Phil Spencer mentioned that he is open to Banjo and Kazooie being included in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The seeds have been planted for a wonderful relationship between both companies.

I wonder if Super Lucky’s Tale coming to Switch would mean that other Rare games, including the fantastic Rare Replay could make its way to the platform as well. While not perfect, Super Lucky’s Tale is an enjoyable game that Switch owners should pick up if it comes to the console. I’m more excited about the possible collaborations between Microsoft and Nintendo that could happen if this port is real.
