After the final battle of Dragon Ball FighterZ at Evo this year a new trailer was shown off for the next DLC character. Janemba, from Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, has been officially revealed along with a taste of his gameplay. He will launch on Aug. 8, with Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Gogeta to follow later.
Janemba uses portals and stretches the very fabric of reality to attack. His ultimate move is him breaking apart shards of space itself to throw at his opponent like broken glass. It’s cooler than I make it sound. Naturally, like the rest of the characters, he has tons and tons of references to his appearance in the movie. We even get to see Janemba’s bigger, friendlier looking first form in his intro.
Janemba is the 12th DLC character. Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn is the 12th Dragon Ball Z movie as well. At the tail end of the trailer, Janemba has his spotlight stolen to tease the DLC character after him, SSGSS Gogeta. It’s a fitting end to the trailer, as in the original movie, Janemba is defeated by Gogeta.
Up next: Gogeta
Gogeta will be the second to last character in the second season, followed by Broly from Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the few seconds of Gogeta gameplay, we see what could be a new Dramatic Finish or even a dramatic entrance when facing Janemba. We can also expect something similar with the Broly DLC, as SSGSS Gogeta made his debut in that film.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is not only one of my favorite fighting games of all time, but also my favorite Dragon Ball game hands down. If you were the kind of person who was holding off on the Switch port of Dragon Ball FighterZ, check out this article telling you why you shouldn’t. Are you a Janemba fan, or are you a Gogeta kind of person?
